The judging at NLS NMC will involve an international team of about 50 professionals to help in carefully assessing the participants’ performance. An Expert Assessor will have the chance to observe and assist around 200 students from around the world in enhancing their skill, through multiple assessment and feedback sessions. The team of Expert Assessor will comprise of mediators, negotiation trainers, academicians, lawyers and in-house counsels.
The Mediation segment will have two sub-segments – Client-Attorney and Mediator. Universities will have to separately apply to both the sub-segments.
The Client-Attorney team will comprise of two members. The Mediator team will comprise of one member. In each round, two client-attorney teams shall represent the parties in the dispute at hand. One mediator, not from the same institute, shall assist such teams in resolving the dispute.
The NLS NMC, is one of Asia-Pacific’s leading ADR competitions. Started in 2015, the competition has fast garnered a reputation as an event that adheres to the highest standards. Previous editions have each seen more than 60 teams and 200 students participate, and have brought together lawyers and ADR experts from India and abroad. It is a testament to the quality of our event that the NLS NMC is one amongst a select few global competitions that conducts three ADR events simultaneously, that is, Negotiation, Mediation and Client Counselling and is also a qualifier for the ICC Mediation Week, Paris and International Negotiation Competition.
